HD Film Transfers

8mm and 16mm film transfers have come a long way since the 80s and 90s. If you wanted to transfer your precious films to preserve the memories, you had only a few choices: transfer your film to VHS tapes or more expensive professional tapes. They were costly and weren’t the perfect solutions for preserving your memories.

One method of telecine film transfer was to project your film on a wall and aim a camera at the projection. While this was the cheapest way to transfer your films, the quality was very poor and wasn’t a great way of preserving those important films. Another method was to strap a specialized camera to front of the projector and project the image directly into the camera. While better than aiming at a wall for film transfers, this would still produce problems as film usually ran at 16 to 18 frames per second and video cameras were 30 frames per second.

At Los Angeles Video Transfer Service, we know your films are very important, so we don’t use typical methods to preserve your memories. We use a frame-by-frame 8mm and 16mm scanner that will capture each individual frame of your video, using a codec-free system that outputs the film for today’s video standards. The results are strikingly great transfers of your old 8mm and 16mm film to a digital file or a DVD. Our scanner even has the capability of scanning your film in true 1080P HD, preserving even more of the quality of your films.
